The Nartan Rang Dance Academy of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has been a staple in New York for over 30 years. Founded by choreographer Swati Vaishnav, the school has locations at Herricks/New Hyde Park and Hicksville located on Long Island, with a Manhattan/NYC outlet to commence in late 2015.

The school is comprised of over 80 students (aged 4 - 50) and continues to see exponential growth year after year. Nartan Rang has not only trained its students to become exemplary dancers, it has cultivated friendships, artistic expression, and a deep sense of connection to the Indian culture and heritage.

The school is unique in its Graduation Program where students who have been learning for at least 5 consecutive years and have completed their curriculum in Folk, Semi-Classical, and Bollywood, as well as an apprenticeship in their 5th year, are given the opportunity to do a solo, self-choreographed performance and earn a certificate of dance.

All of the inimitable qualities of the institution, simply put, add up to one thing: an unforgettable lifetime experience full of memories, friendships, and dance.

Swati Vaishnav has been dancing since the tender age of 8, and is an incredibly talented, passionate, and dedicated teacher. Her disciples have performed at numerous prestigious venues including the United Nations for UNICEF, the American Museum of Natural History, Town Hall, City Hall, Queens Library, South Street Seaport, Madison Square Garden, and Lincoln Center.
